EP Back on Tour Timeline
1970's-1980's
Jay and his mother Lois make trips to Memphis through Lois's travel business. During their travels, they stop in cities where Elvis performed and see the interesting spots, like hotels and venues.
2008
At the age of 7, Michael visits Graceland for the first time.
2016
Jay and Michael take their first cross-country trip focusing on Elvis's performance venues. Visiting more than 10 cities from the northern Midwest to Rapid City, South Dakota and Denver, Colorado. and back through the middle of the United Staes.
2017
Jay and Michael travel to the southern United States visiting another grouping of cities across multiple states.
2018
Jay and Michael set out on yet another major trip, visiting cities solely in the northern Midwest.
2019
Jay and Michael travel to Memphis for Elvis week. For both of them, this was their first ever Elvis Week. They also meet many people in the Elvis world such as Dick Grob, Billy Smith, TCB Band members and more.
2020
With the whole world shut down during COVID-19, Jay and Michael decide that as their
"stuck at home" project they would begin sharing their travels with Elvis fans all over the world. Elvis Back on Tour was born!!! (Later becoming EP Back on Tour). They also embark on their "famous" Texas trip.
2021
Jay and Michaels first full year with their new platform. This included trips to the Midwest and cities with some Elvis's most famous concerts. There was a focus on quantity and quality content.
2022
No big trip this year. BUT, 2 trips to Memphis in April and August. April focused on the
lesser-known locations of Elvis's time in Memphis. August, of course, focusing on the memory of Elvis and meeting more people from around the world.
2023
This year was a big push focusing on interviewing people in the Elvis world. 2023 was the year that hosted the first interview with someone from the Elvis's circle. Jay and Michael had the amazing opportunity to interview Estelle Brown of the "Sweet Inspirations" in the same venue that she performed with Elvis in Shreveport, LA. Then in August, during Elvis Week, getting to interview Ron Strauss, Elvis's co-pilot, taking him back on the Lisa Marie. As well as forming a friendship with George Hill who took thousands of photographs at more than 60 concerts during the 70's. Wrapping up the year with a trip to Mobile, AL with George where he attended all 8 shows.
2024
A busy year, starting off with a spring trip to Birmingham and Huntsville, AL with Keith, Marsha, and Bruce Alverson alongside George Hill and Bennie Ruth Jacks. Hearing their stories. Halfway through the year a setback. Instagram removes "Elvis Back on Tour" after 4 years and 35,000 followers for "impersonation" (of a man who has been gone for 45+ years). Jay and Michael decide to keep pushing forward and not give up on people that have been faithful followers. Both remembering how Elvis did not give up after being told to "go back and drive a truck" at the Grand Ole Opry. Shortly after "EP Back on Tour" is born. With a fresh look and a determination to bring the best possible content, including help from longtime followers and frineds, Jay and Michael promote their new page during Elvis Week.
2025
A slow year for EP Back on Tour as Michael joins the Fire Department and is in the Fire Academy 7 months, then having to work during Elvis Week. But, Jay and Michael have waited over a year to get back on the road. In the fall, traveling to Cincinnati, OH to retrace the steps of Elvis. Then starting 2026 with their first Elvis Birthday celebration in Memphis.
